Olga Subbotina: "I have four cats - I sheltered everyone from the street"

Only together we can make this world a better place!

Many today use Instagram for personal promotion and status demonstration. But this is also a platform for charitable assistance says Olga Subbotina (@subbota) organiser of fashion events. “We often post photos of expensive cars, haute couture outfits and luxury hotels but at the same time we forget how even a small amount can help, for example, animals.” We will relay how to participate in charity lotteries with a stylish prize.

How did you get into fashion?

In 2010 I started working with Black Model Management agency sending models for contracts all over the world. As a booker I often visited fashion shows in Europe where I met a representative of the then famous holding BVBA 32. I worked with the brands Ann Demeulemeester and Haider Ackermann a long time , organising shows and filming. After that, I worked not only in France, but also in Belgium, Italy, and China. At present I am on a little sabbatical. I am organising various charitable events in Europe.

Do you think fashion has changed in the face of the pandemic?

Undoubtedly, and everyone evaluates these changes in their own way. Collections for sports and recreation have become more popular. At the same time, the fashion world lost a large number of talented people during the pandemic which left its mark in this area. The entire industry is going online which is also a big change.

You actively help shelters and animals. How did it all start?

As a child I brought a street kitten home and forced my parents to allow it to stay with blackmail and tears. I constantly feed stray animals. Now I have four cats which I rescued from the streets.

How do you know that the shelter is real, not fraudsters?

Real volunteers and shelters do not write private messages on social media asking for a transfer. Often you need help not only with money but also with your hands, or they need a car. I personally meet with each volunteer and visit shelters and all my contacts are trusted people. All the links to help animals are fixed on my Instagram page. In addition, I plan to hold the next New Year’s lottery on my page with all funds going to help the Shelter in Kaluga “Tramp Soul” Anyone can take part and win a prize!
