“I DON’T LIKE FASHIONABLE TERMS, BUT I LIKE THIS”

Katerina Mironova (@photo.mironova) — founder of MODEL’S POST MAGAZINE, journalist, international model, author of the book “Modeling. 99 percent immersion”, Scout Director of Index Models.

Finally watched the long-planned films: “House of Gucci” “Death on the Nile”
“Ball”and “Haute Couture”.  I watched them for the sake of watching them. I do not like buzzwords, but I like this. What is important for me is the visual experience gained from viewing a large number of works of art, a kind of own intellectual library, a collection, which over time, you become an expert in any issue and can separate quality from cheapness.

I consider being observant to be a very useful skill for photographers, designers, artists and models. What can I say – for a wide range of professions: a buyer, a scout, a colourist, an editor, an architect, an illustrator… Being well-read is also important, it helps in the creation of a sense of taste.

The autumn-winter period is better than ever for such things: to watch, read, listen, absorb information and the cultural layer. So in this issue we have a lot of stories, conversations and memories. There will definitely be a lot of reading.

We spoke with designer and art critic Natalia Valevskaya about Russian culture, about life in Monte Carlo and about ideal models. On several occasions I took part in Natalia’s shows as a model, and it always was feminine, colourful and elegant. I’m glad we got to know each other better.

Julia Miranda talked about life and modelling in the Philippines. With Maria Lipatnikova, we talked about the beauty industry.

In the Location section China after the pandemic, in Casting – the story of one model’s blackmail. Parent agencies in the MAC section this time discussed the most common contract violations.

Anita Yakimenko talked about how she discovered one Russian top model and about her very useful project “Breakfast with a Photographer”.

Diana Agibalova (Tobolsk) shared the problems of modelling agencies in the region.
