Not long ago I returned from Hong Kong, where I was at a meeting with partner agencies. Before this, I had already visited there about 20 times, more than half of which was for modelling work. I remember how I didn’t like it very much the first time I visited, and I thought that I’d never come back here again. Small apartments, noisy model neighbours after nights out, difficulties in finding castings (there were no Google maps then, only paper maps of the city), hard work, travelling to different cities for filming. But I was wrong, and now, even after finishing my modelling career, I go there again and again in the hope of catching that same inspiration that is unique to Hong Kong. Enjoy the beauty of skyscrapers, the taste of local cafes, stroll through familiar places, and once again go to Disneyland, Victoria Peak, and Ocean Park. When I look for overseas contracts for models, I am especially happy when I negotiate with Hong Kong agencies – here they can create famous magazines or shows, find regular clients, or simply fall in love with this city, like I once did.
However, in this issue we will talk not only about this country (in the Fitting section there is a sketch about a local store), but also about the peculiarities of the model’s work in Indonesia.
A special pride for me is the interview with nutritionist Nadezhda Shubina. I have long wanted to tell models how important proper nutrition is!
An article about portfolios, advice for those who cannot leave for a long time, and we reflect on the success of models.
What is also nice to note: in this issue, two models from our scouting centre helped me prepare materials for once: Polina – an interview with photographer Evgeny Kirillov and makeup artist Kristina Yakovleva. And Nina interviewed her mother about proper nutrition. It turned out, in my opinion, very interesting!
