Vika Fedorova: “Stylish jewellery as if for myself”

International model (worked in Italy, France, Spain, Australia, Israel, Greece). Collaborated with Gucci, PUPA, Women’s secret, Grazia, Stradivarius, Marie Clair… Now teaches photo posing and fashion theory at a modelling agency. She is the creator of handmade jewellery Noshu, which is what we decided to talk about.

Beginning

It all started with a personal need of not being able to find a suitable piece of jewellery in stores, I found a master class online and decided to try making it myself. It turned out to be a fascinating activity, opening up opportunities of experimenting with materials and techniques. The first works were even put up for sale. However, there were problems with the quality of the fittings. Taking a friend’s advice, I turned to an experienced craftsman for guidance, who shared secrets and information about suppliers. Thus the hobby grew into a conscious business.

Philosophy

My philosophy is simple: to create jewellery that I would wear myself. I love unusual elements, such as ceramic birds and glass figurines. When working with clients at markets, I always pay attention to their colour type in order to offer the most suitable jewellery. Some people like classics, while others prefer something more original. But I often encourage experimentation, bold combinations of colours and textures.

Fashionable subtext

I have been in the fashion industry for a long time, which helps me predict trends. Constant photo shoots, participation in fashion events – all this forms my style, which is reflected in jewellery. I am not afraid to experiment, be it in clothes or in creating accessories. I recently completed a course on working with glass and plan to use my new knowledge in my work.

Pleasant things

The most pleasant thing is to see the joy of clients. Once at the market, a girl spent a long time choosing beads, but she was always in a hurry, and I was worried whether she would like it. In the end, she came back and ordered two more jewellery pieces! It is very nice when bloggers choose my works for reviews, not by order, but by the call of the heart. Of course, family support is also important. My mother is my most devoted client, although my parents are far away from fashion by profession.

Dream

I do not strive for mass production, I prefer to make unique things. I dream that my jewellery will be worn by famous people and that it will become popular in other cities.
