1. External data. Even though some agencies have relaxed the requirements for parameters and model height (up to 168 cm), the basic requests still remain the same. Foreign agencies still ask for a height of 170–180 cm (for Asia, up to 176 is ideal), parameters: hips no more than 92, waist no more than 62 (60–90 remains preferred). Age from 15 to 22 years old, older – they have been thinking for a long time, depending on experience and portfolio.
2. Trust in the mother agency. If you can’t get a job for a long time, you might want to consider changing your parent agency. If you want to work in New York but are only sent to Asia, you may also want to consider changing your parent agency. If after one shift you still can’t get a job or aren’t in New York, it probably wasn’t the mother agency that was the problem.
3. Execution. The Parent Agency may advise you to change or update your social media profile. You were asked to quickly send snaps, update portraits, call back… You did nothing but are already writing to another motherboard in the hope that they will accept you with an existing profile, without snaps and portraits. Many agencies communicate with each other and quickly learn about models defecting, so the new and existing agency may decide not to contact you.
4. Adequacy and “friendship with the head.” If you are looking at modelling as a way to travel and have fun, then the most you can count on is one or two trips.
5. Objectivity. If you’ve been told to lose weight, but you can’t or don’t want to, you might want to consider other activity options or try harder without harming your health. If you are already over 23, but still want to work in the modelling business, there is a chance if you have experience, good photos, clear skin, the right parameters and the right type. But not very big.
